Lotus Exige Custom Paint
Customer Jaimie wanted a one off custom three stage paint job on his Lotus Exige. Each custom paint job at Mulholland Motorsports begins with multiple test panels in order for the client to see what the actual custom paint will end up looking like on their vehicle. It is during this process that paint modifications can be discussed and tweaked. If you look closely at the picture below you will see three different shades of yellow in this test for the “ghost stripe” that Jaimie wanted. In order to get the best possible results, all body panels must be removed so the new custom paint looks better than it came delivered from the factory with.
Once the body panels are removed, the vehicle and the panels are painted individually in the heated downdraft spray booth. The down draft system is critical for keeping contamination out of the painting process.
After the vehicle is painted, color sanded and buffed, the reassembly process begins.

Final assembly finished, all vehicles are then meticulously inspected before a final detailing and delivery to the customer.
